The Palestinian reply could not have been more accurately explained. It indicated that the Palestinians understand the issue better than the Bush Administration. It was, furthermore, a bold slap in the face, or put down, which indicates a lack of respect for US foreign policy. Between cops and robbers there often develops a healthy respect even though the two sides despise each other. That respect does not exist between the Bush Administration and the Palestinians, nor with the other Arabs. Bill Clinton got more respect than the Bush Administration.
Respect has nothing to do with who is right or wrong. A smart person will respect a rattlesnake, whereas a fool will not. This has nothing to do with being liked by the Arabs. That is not the issue. Respect is lost when one side sees the other as foolish. And that is precisely how the Arabs perceive the US. They see the foolishness. For example, the Arabs have terrorized Israel and the US. Yet, neither Israel nor the US has yet executed a single terrorist. The Arabs hear Bush talking tough. A person who is tough doesn't have to talk about it. Yet, none of the terrorists have been executed. The logical analysis from the Arab perspective is that Bush is hot air.
The language of the street is not the same as the language for arousing the emotions to get votes or quipping for a sound bite. Rumsfeld usually gets respect because he's a straight talker. But wearing a wool suit in the Arab desert will only be perceived by the Arab as foolish. Did Joshua negotiate with inhabitants of the Land? Only once, and then he got burned.
The elephant has been over Florida since June 10th, the day President Bush met with Ariel Sharon in Washington. After the thunderstorms in Florida today, there was a remnant of a rainbow in the east. Florida has been associated with the Palestinians at Gaza. The elephant over Florida represents the battle with Baal associated with the Palestinians. President Bush is formulating a Middle East peace plan that will bring more cursing upon the nation regardless of what he says. It is quite likely that he doesn't have a single proposal that is even sane. The more he negotiates, the worse it gets.
Today, the image of a weather elephant was over Florida for the 6th day. An elephant represents a demon Commander, such as Baal.
The Bush peace plan is an outgrowth of the wooing of Saudi Prince Abdullah and the turkey diplomacy at the Bush ranch in Crawford, Texas. Just like Vice President Cheney's Middle East tour that was a bust, President Bush's turkey diplomacy with the Arabs will have the same result. It was the God of Abraham who smashed the Arab horse coming out of the starting gate in the Belmont Stakes, and it is the God of Abraham who has cut the rug out from under President Bush for defying the Abrahamic Covenant. The smell of discipline is in the air.
The Bush Administration is now split down the middle. The pro-Israel group are Cheney, Rumsfeld, and the Defense Department and the pro-Arab group are Colin Powell and the State Department. Whose side is Bush on? Well, he says he hasn't decided. But he is not pro-Israel. History called President Bush to action, and he bet on War Emblem, the Arab horse. The Saudi Prince proposed the plan and Bush bought his ticket. The Saudi peace plan lacks the insight of a turkey, and Bush is now trying to workout diplomacy to support it. How the race will turn out has already been foretold. All Bush had to do was look at the horse race.
War Emblem had high approval ratings. He was a sure bet to win. Yet the least likely horse won the race.
I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise, nor wealth to the discerning, nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11, NAS)Will history repeat itself?
Today was June 15th, for a covering. God's covering solves all problems. And it was Day 166, for worldliness.
Those who bet their salvation on anyone other than the Lord Jesus Christ are the biggest fools. Salvation is only possible through Jesus Christ. Only faith in Jesus Christ can save.
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" (Acts 16:31). "Everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have Eternal Life" (John 3:16b).
