Power outages forced the cancellation of trials in the Contra Costa County courthouse, and a rock slide closed US Highway 199, the main corridor into Oregon.

Links: | AP |James Kilgore, 55, the fifth Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) fugitive wanted for a 1975 bank robbery, was arrested in South Africa, a day after four former comrades pleaded guilty to murder in the case. He was arrested at his home in the Cape Town suburb of Claremont. He was working at the University of Cape Town as a lecturer.
