Links: | Ha'aretz | CNN | AP |February 20 (Day 51, Arrogance): The Israeli Cabinet of Ariel Sharon approved the Gaza pullout by a vote of 17 - 5, where 17 stands for lawlessness and 5 is for Grace or a giant. The withdrawal from all 21 Israeli settlements in Gaza and 4 in the West Bank is set for July 20, which is a 5 month delay. Cabinet members Benjamin Netanyahu, Natan Sharansky, Danny Naveh, Tzachi Hanegbi, and Yisrael Katz voted against withdrawal.
In the historic vote the 17 supporters included 8 from the Labor Party. The 5 opposed were from the Likud Party. The 5 month delay in implementation corresponds to a grace period in 2005, the year for Grace or a giant. Today was February 20, for going out or coming in, which corresponds to the withdrawal plan. It was Day 51 for arrogance.
